You stay anonymous. Here's exactly how.
The whole idea only works if uploading a quote can never be traced back to your house. So anonymity isn't a policy here — it's how the system is built.
What we never collect
- No account, no email, no password. There is nothing to sign up for. Your quotes are tied to a random 16-character recovery code that only you hold — we store a one-way fingerprint of it, which identifies your uploads without identifying you.
- No name, no address. The extraction step is explicitly instructed to skip your name and street address. Only the job-site ZIP is kept, and it is never shown publicly.
What appears publicly
- Equipment (brand, model, size), price, and line items.
- The contractor company name — never a salesperson.
- Your area only as a ZIP-prefix bucket like 441xx — a zone covering tens of thousands of homes. No contractor can work out which house uploaded.
What happens to your document
- The PDF or photo is read once to extract the fields above, then discarded. The document itself is never published and never stored.
- We never extract or publish the contractor's engineering work — load calculations, measurements, sizing worksheets. Price transparency, not scope theft.
What we'll never do
- No lead-gen, ever. Contractors cannot pay for placement or ranking, and we don't sell your info to anyone — there is no info about you to sell.
- Typed-in numbers without a document never count toward the published statistics, so the numbers you see can't be gamed by anyone making prices up.
