Your quote. Your choice to contribute.
No account or email is required to check a quote. Public price figures use only contributions that pass our evidence checks. We do not sell contractor placement or homeowner leads.
What we receive privately
When you upload, we receive the original PDF or photos. These may contain your name, address and other personal details. We ask the extraction system to omit those details from structured quote records. The original document is retained in private Supabase storage so we can check or improve the extraction. Please redact information you do not want processed before uploading.
Who processes the document
Document content is sent to Anthropic to extract quote details. Vercel hosts the app and Supabase stores its records. Your document is not published or shown to contractors. Infrastructure services may process request metadata such as IP addresses. Optional email reminders store your address separately from quote records after you request them. Resend processes confirmation and reminder emails when email delivery is enabled. Confirmation links expire after 48 hours; reminders require confirmation. Unsubscribing removes the address from our reminder store, while the email provider may retain delivery logs under its own retention policy. Email does not replace your recovery code. Optional browser reminders store a push subscription; reports can include contact information you choose to supply.
Sharing is optional
On confirmation, you can allow the structured equipment, scope, price, contractor company and subsequent outcome data to contribute to comparisons. We record your choice and its date. An unchecked box keeps your quote private and still gives you Quote Check; eligible contributions unlock neighbor comparisons. We do not use permission to publish a quote document or homeowner name/address.
How comparisons protect location
Each published price group needs at least five document-backed quotes from three different jobs. Exact-ZIP groups that are too small expand to the ZIP-prefix area or stay unpublished. Public product pages show aggregates. Private comparisons use ZIP-prefix areas. These safeguards reduce identification risk, but a contractor may recognize a distinctive price or equipment combination; we cannot promise that a submission can never be recognized.
Recovery and deletion
Your browser has a random recovery code. We store its one-way fingerprint with your job records. Keep the code private: it grants access to your jobs. Original documents remain privately retained unless deletion is requested; there is no automatic expiry yet. Use “Withdraw from comparisons” on your private quote report to stop contributing that quote and its outcome. Contact us with the job link to request document deletion. Do not send your recovery code by email.
What document-backed means
Our checks establish that a readable document supports the submitted comparison fields. They do not independently prove a contractor issued it. Failed reads, edited fields and older records awaiting review stay out of published statistics. Asking prices, homeowner-reported accepted prices and supported invoice totals are separate figures.
